Lopez Center's 20th Annual Home Tour!
Sep 20, 2023
By Lopez Center for Community and the Arts
We hope you will join us for the tour of six truly Lopezian homes.
It is amazing to think back on the past 20 years, and to remember all of the homes, stories and work that went into creating all of the wonderful Home Tours.
It all started in 2004 when John and Carol Whetten brought the concept to Lopez. Jim Smith and Connie Harris joined in along with dozens of other volunteers. Since then, the Tour has raised close to half a million dollars for the Center and over 100 Lopezians have generously invited us into their homes and their lives. The funds provide vital support for the Community Center.
This year’s Tour is dedicated to Barb Fulton. Known as a "Snoop Sister," she, Connie and Mary Gauthier were instrumental in finding many of the homes that were featured over the years. She also served on the Lopez Center board for almost a decade.
The Home Tour will be virtual again this year with video filmed by Matteus Rabel. Karlena Pickering has provided drone footage and Bill Johnson created the original score. The theme is Owner Builder/Renovated. This year's Tour is not only about the structures, it's about the people, their stories, dreams and the transition of "home." Some start with the purchase of land and others with a vision of how to give new life to buildings in disrepair.
The Tour is presented for free this year thanks to our generous sponsors.
As part of the Tour this year, there is going to be a drawing for a free round trip flight to Seattle on Kenmore Air. Watch the Tour at www.lopezcenter.org and make a $25 donation to be entered in the drawing!
