Watch a video that shows how a Tsunami wave might behave in the San Juan Islands.
The Washington State Department of Natural Resources has produced a video based on a simulation developed by Washington Geological Survey hazard geologists.
It shows a simulation for the San Juan Islands from a hypothetical magnitude 9.0 earthquake (L1) scenario on the Cascadia subduction zone.
