Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Spokane District Manager Kurt Pindel announces the selection of Brie Chartier as the San Juan Islands National Monument Manager.
“Brie is an experienced planner with a background in outdoor and environmental education, to include being a Leave No Trace Master Educator,” Pindel said. “Brie also has a strong background in collaborative leadership, consensus building and building partnerships. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Johnson State College and should be a great addition to the local community.”
The BLM manages 1,020 acres of lands within the San Juan Archipelago which became a National Monument through a Proclamation signed by President Obama on March 25, 2013. The National Monument includes BLM lands in San Juan, Whatcom and Skagit Counties.
