My MacPro laptop is stuck on the Apple and progress bar when I restart, won't go to desktop. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I need to access info for a writing deadline.

Heyoooo, I've repaired tons of Macbooks doing this. First step is unplug all things, all USB devices, chargers etc. Hold power for ten seconds until it powers off. If that doesn't work, as soon as you power on your mac press and hold the Command (⌘) and R keys. This takes you to a few options on what you can do. If you aren't comfortable in doing any of these things, message me and I can walk you through it!
