Board Members: Meredith Perry, Jessica Dahl and Brian Hallaburka. I oppose the firing of Martha Savage today! In the 17+ years she’s devoted to the Center, staff, but primarily children (first!), Martha has given so much.I worked along side her for 2 years, so I know she’s punctual, aware and keeps kids safe, communicates with parents, supports fundraisers, has the most credentials and experience in teaching and genuinely loves children.
If you had concerns regarding her performance, was there a plan implemented of regular evaluation in the area (including specific goals clearly stated)signed by both parties? Surely, a valued employee would be given the respect of such a process.
You’d recently awarded Martha several dollars an hour pay raise. Why would you do that if her performance is substandard?
In my opinion, you’ve made a very shortsighted and puzzling error in judgement firing Martha Savage.

Oh my goodness. Can’t believe I listed her as a Savage. She’s only been Martha Garcia for thirty plus years! Sorry, all!
