Hot water tank - glass lined vs. stainless steel?
Feb 17, 2021
It's time to replace my water heater before it decides for itself.
I'm on well water and thinking about switching from a glass lined tank to a stainless steel tank. Apparently SS is more resistant to corrosion but not as good for water with high chloride content.
What do other folks use ?
Thanks,
~Slim

Glass is impervious to corrosion, SS is not. SS will corrode in the absence of air.
I recommend a 'Marathon' fiberglass water heater. We have had ours for 12 years and going strong! They are also extra insulated for efficiency!
