Elections Ballot Box on Lopez Island Remains Open to Voters Despite Construction

Divers may not be able to easily access the ballot box from about July 19th to July 26, or after.
SAN JUAN COUNTY, WA. July 20, 2023 - The San Juan County Elections Ballot Box on Lopez Island, located near the fire station, is open and available to voters despite construction.
Due to a Lopez Fire & EMS construction project behind Station 41 at 2228 Fisherman Bay Road, divers may not be able to drive behind the station to access the ballot box for about a week - Wednesday, July 19th to Wednesday, July 26, or after.
To access the Ballot Box
1. Those wishing to access the ballot box may drive down the driveway on the south end of the Fire Station, turn around, and access the ballot box from your vehicle.
2. Users are also welcome to briefly park in front of the bay door nearest the ballot box and walk to the ballot box to drop off your ballot.
