Lopez Island Artist Wins Top Award Honor

Lopez Island artist, Steve Hill's painting "Fisherman Bay Winter Sunset" earns a "Top 40" Award Honor in the 14th Annual Plein Air Salon International Competition.
There were several hundred art entries from over 30 countries this year.
His painting was done completely on-site (en plein air) at Fisherman Bay, in November 2023 quickly, in one session to capture what Hill refers to as "liquid marine light effects" just as the sun was setting.
"Earning top honors in this huge annual salon competition is particularly gratifying, especially since my painting was done where I live and and love to work - Lopez Island!"
He and his wife, Judy will be at the final awards ceremony, as guests of the PACE 2025 convention in Reno, NV on May 19th - with fingers crossed!
