Isuzu Dump Truck/Arborist Truck
Apr 13, 2025
2002 Isuzu FRR For Sale
This rig is a reliable, economical beast that'll earn its keep and make you money.
I'll take and post more photos next week. Happy to chat here or by phone with any questions.
2002 Isuzu FRR, dump bed with tool box.
I built this out as my dream Arborist Tree Care rig, but it would be great for other trades and contractors.
about 120,000 miles.
18,000GVW, so under CDL but big enough to haul a hefty load.
6cylinder diesel, way more power than the smaller NPR. This thing drives like a real truck, and comfortably tows a 10,000lb trailer. Has brake controller and 20k LB hitch.
under 22' in length, so fits on a regular car fare for the WA State ferries.
The bad news? the Hiab/knuckleboom is not operational. It's been mounted but hasn't been hooked up. I priced out $6-8k to get it up and running through Bellingham Hydraulic. It needs A PTO and hydraulic pump, and perhaps a few hydraulic lines. My asking price is as if the truck didn't have the Hiab, so consider it a bonus on a great flatbed dumptruck with excellent tool storage capacity.
I'm the second owner, and have owned it for about two years.
I am only selling because I got offered a space in a master program abroad and am downsizing my operation and so selling my big rig and keeping my little Isuzu elf. New tires on the rear (less than 6k on them) and these are all terrain aggressive tires for a truck like this. Front tires have maybe twice the millage on them, and are in excellent shape. I have snow chains for it all the way around, dually chains for the rear, and singles for the front.
The toolboxes on this thing are a very functional. A large drawer on one side, great shelving on the cross body box, and two smaller boxes under the dump bed.
Dump bed is 8.5' x 10' with a hydraulic over electric hoist. No problem dumping a full load of logs, firewood rounds, etc.
Manual transmission with super low granny gear (great for those steep narrow driveways). The turning radius on these rigs is unrivaled, Isuzu claims it is better than a Porsche, unfortunately I don't have a Porsche so I haven't been able to verify this. Everything works, a few dings and dents, but ready to go to work tomorrow and for many more miles to come.
I have a timeline I need to sell in order make grad school happen, so priority goes to whoever is able and ready to move on it. Available to show the weekend of the April 19th
Located on Lopez Island, but willing to meet on the mainland in Anacortes, particularly if I have multiple people interested in viewing it on the same day.
Somebody is going to love this rig, and make a lot of good money running it.
Asking $18500
