RAINED OUT - POSTPONED TO JUNE 10 Pool Dome DOWN for the Summmer

The Lopez Swim Center at 70 Pool Lane is about to celebrate summer! We are planning to deflate, fold and store the massive Arīzon dome that covers the pools on WEDNESDAY June 10, weather permitting.
On Monday June 8, the technical crew directed preparation of the Dome for deflation. The day started at 8:30 AM, with coffee and breakfast snacks provided to 9 volunteers by the Lopez Swim Center Ambassadors and Board. Crew members who had participated in the February Dome UP work party were invited to join the crew in this half-day task.
On WEDNESDAY June 10, new dome crew volunteers will be paired with experienced Lopez dome crew volunteers totaling 20-25 workers to do the deflation, sectioning, folding and storage of the dome, supervised by the Arīzon technical crew. The Dome UP crew in February showed we can do it-- and all of us were new to this task!
June 10 is a full day of Dome handling, starting at 9:00 AM. Again, coffee, breakfast snacks and lunch are provided to this heroic volunteer crew. If you think this will be quite a job, you are right! But plenty of breaks are provided along with plenty of "1 - 2- 3 - PULL!"
While some strength is certainly necessary, what is really needed are those who can bend, crouch, stretch, pull, be on their feet to work for hours, and value working on a team. Your work means swimming under Lopez blue skies this summer, and you can feel proud that you are part of this amazing team.
All participants will check in at the pool's Community Room at 9:00 AM. From the parking lot, enter through the black metal gate and turn left. The Community Room is the last green building on your left. Each person signs in, and those who have not been on the team this past winter or who have not taken a guided tour are required to sign a waiver that allows them access to an active construction zone supervised by Sage Building Solutions..
Please wear sturdy shoes, bring work gloves, and prepare for changeable weather.
