Question for Rally the Rec
Oct 31, 2025
Admittedly I come late to this discussion, but, I have been thinking about the park and rec idea for some time. Supporting school sports is a simple yes for me, however there is a large percentage of money for after school and summer programs that is not very well defined. That said, I am wondering if Park and Rec will be able or willing to partner with other non profits or volunteer groups, that have expertise and equipment to provide activities and in particular, adventure programs for youth. I am a water guy and as many of us know, liability insurance is the difficult part of putting kids on the water. Can Park and Rec be an insurance umbrella for other groups,to expand the range of possible activities? Are you willing to include water programs, Back pack trips? Thanks for all your work. Oh, this is not Molly Bill, rather I’m Steven Brouwer

I have been going to all the meetings and reading everything that the Lopez Rec Formation Committee has put out. It looks to me like they have over promised and would not have the funding to support everything they have said. Look at the budget that the Formation Committee created. Lots of generalities and short on specifics.
Thanks Jenny, I feel better about the idea.
