I am a printmaker, working primarily in monotypes.
I maintain a printmaking studio in which I am lucky enough to have a giant press to pull my monoprints. I visited a tiny village in Tuscany a long time ago. It's name struck me as very beautiful and thought it related to the colors around me here on Lopez in Center Valley. Hence the name of my studio: Umbertide, pronounced "oom bear teeday".
Artwork is a lonely activity, so I often share my space with a dear friend,Audrey Bordvick.She also makes lovely prints.
We will be opening the studio in the fall in hopes that interested persons will drop in and see our work.
