Thank YOU LOPEZ!

On behalf of the FLIP board, I’d like to thank you all for your incredible support during our year-end appeal. And a special thanks goes out to those who matched the challenges provided by Randy and Karen Wilburn, and Rita O’Boyle. Your matching donations enabled us to far exceed our year-end goals. We are extremely grateful for this amazing community: Folks who are committed and determined to build a swim center!

I’m also excited to share the news that our FLIP Project Committee and Project Manager have selected Chad Fisher Construction, based out of Burlington, for our project. They have extensive experience with community projects and building on the islands. We are now working with them to iron out all of the details, with the goal of breaking ground on the pool this summer. This means we should all be swimming in the new pool by Summer 2023!

Last, but not least, I’d like to give a quick shout-out to all of our volunteers who came forward last year. The island is loaded with talented people who are dedicated to this pool and bring a wealth of expertise. Looking ahead, there is a lot of work that needs to get done before we open the pool in 2023. This includes helping coordinate a groundbreaking event, developing programming, and helping out with operations and finances.
