This Week: Today, we offer the second (of two, maybe three) editions of the Pete & John Show, honoring the joint birthdays (on May 7) of Johannes (John) Brahms (1833) and Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840). First comes excerpts from Brahms’ 3rd and 4th (final) symphonies, then parts of Tchaikovsky’s 5th and 6th (final) symphonies, saving a 7-minute closing segment for one memorable tune (each) from two major movie composers born on May overseas 130+ years ago: Max Steiner (Vienna, Austria, 1888) and Dmitri Tiomkin (Ukraine, 1894).
