Lopez Island
October 17, 2020
Posted by Lopez Thrift Shop, Lopez Island

Lopez Thrift Shop volunteers have worked hard to offer several outside shopping opportunities for the community the past few months during the COVID-19 pandemic. But now the weather is changing bringing wind, rain, and cold temperatures. So in response, we have decided to open the shop for a limited a two-day sale on a TRIAL basis with reduced hours.

The Shop will be OPEN
Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24, only until further notice
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

At the end of this short TRIAL shopping period, the Board will meet and decide if we can continue for a limited time on a Friday/Saturday schedule. Much will depend on your cooperation with the guidelines posted, as well as your patience and participation. The decision will be posted on LopezRocks as well as the Lopez Thrift Shop website, www.lopezthriftshop.com

These are some of the shopping behavior requirements that will be posted both outside and inside the Shop:

•The volunteers will wear gloves, masks and may also wear face shields.

•The volunteer at the door will monitor the number of shoppers allowed into the Shop at any one time.

•A limit of 4 shoppers will be allowed in the Shop at any one time.

•All shoppers are required to wear masks and use hand sanitizer before entering.

•Shoppers will be advised to maintain 6 ft. social distancing.

•Shopping time may be limited depending on the line of shoppers waiting to enter.

•Each shopper will be handed a plastic shopping basket for collecting his or her selections.

•When it’s time to check out at the Retail Desk, the shopper will pick up a paper grocery bag. He/She will take out each item collected in the basket and tell the Retail Desk volunteer what the price is, then he/she will place the item in the paper bag. The seller will handle no items.

•Cash or checks only will be accepted.

Neither the dressing room or the rest room will be open to the public.
Clothes may not be tried on.

Safety for all is our prime concern. We also hope that you will relish the opportunity to browse again through the Thrift Shop. Volunteers have been very busy displaying fall décor and Thanksgiving items in the retail area. There are lots of dishes for the holidays as well as an amazing supply of warm fall weather clothing including hats, gloves, jackets and sweaters.

Thanks for continuing to support the Lopez Thrift Shop. We look forward to seeing you again!
