Hi there,

My name is Brandon and my wife Lila and I are young farmers who are preparing to move up to Lopez in December. Most recently we lived on a 10-acre farm in Hyde Park, Vermont, a small farming community with a population of 490 people. We chose to live there because we were interested in seeing if we'd enjoy a quiet, rural lifestyle and we absolutely loved it! We had an organic vegetable garden, layer hens and bees.

In October, I graduated from the Farmer Training Program at the University of Vermont. The Farmer Training Program is a hands-on program that provides a skills-based education in sustainable farming. As students, we ran all aspects of the university's 10-acre organic farm, where we grew 40 fruit and vegetable crops to support our farmer's market stand and 100 member CSA.

Lila was a teacher in New York City for eight years, with a focus on special education. Today she works remotely for an education non-profit as a curriculum writer. She's interested in building community and supporting play-based education.

We recently purchased a 1969 Winnebago and are looking for a place to park it and live in it on the island. We’re hoping to have access to water, electricity, and wifi. We’re open to a monthly payment in exchange for access to the land and amenities and we’re also open to a work-trade or a combination of payment and work-trade.

We have a four-year-old Australian shepherd named Rainbow who weighs 40 pounds. He is friendly and loves other dogs and people. We're open to installing temporary fencing, a long leash, and other solutions to prevent him from interacting with other animals.

I’ve included a few photos of us and our Winnebago. We look forward to connecting with you!

All the best,
Brandon and Lila
