Kwiaht wants to make sure everyone in the islands has access to sustainable, healthy wild foods. You can borrow a crab trap (with line, rot cord, and crab ruler) from our lending library of harvesting and processing tools; available on Lopez for anyone with a shellfish license or under the age of 15 (when no license is required--though you still need a catch record card to keep Dungeness crabs). To borrow a trap get in touch with Madrona (madrona@kwiaht.org) who will arrange contactless pick-up. If you need a float for your trap we have those as well (to keep). You can also donate supplies to our library-- we're collecting fishing, crabbing, and shrimping gear, and canning jars. Find rules for crabbing in Washington State at WDFW https://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/shellfishing-regulations/crab
