Hey folks - Hope you and yours are all staying well!

We have heard anxious cries about crowds at Watmough and Iceberg and we are taking steps! The press for stress release seems to be hitting with particular profundity on our island!

-On Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays at high traffic time we will have friendly greeters at trailheads to support visitors awareness for the landscapes' special protection status and appropriate behaviors.

-We are also arranging to get a couple of grab-n-go mask dispensers for those locations, for the just in case.

-And another kid friendly sign to "stick to the trail".

And this: Do you get our Monument News enewsletter? Its' a monthly message to keep you up on what's happening. In this issue you'll be introduced to the skilled local team of BLMers, including an Archaeologist who is here helping us get complete cultural surveys throughout the monument landscapes. Also we're fortunate to have the YCC making a difference on Indian Island! We're so happy that this program was able to continue, challenges notwithstanding. They are hitting it hard this year, a really spirited group, one for each San Juan, Orcas, and Lopez.

You can read about it here
And if you want to sign up to get this as an email, please contact me, I'll put you on the list!

Hang in there, stay cool, and maybe try a new zucchini recipe ~ I just found one for ice cream!

Thanks for all you do!
