Hand Forged Works for Home and Garden
Craig started his blacksmithing work in 1990 as a ferrier in Northern California. After moving to Lopez Island in 1999, his focus shifted to ornamental iron and sculpture. Craig is primarily a self-taught blacksmith and uses a great deal of traditional joinery in his work.
He does his own design work, as well as working with client's designs. The primary work in the shop is custom commissions as well as Craig's exploration with sculpture. The shop is located at the north end of Lopez, on 20 acres of woods which gives ample space for reflection and the ability to make a great deal of noise.
The shop is not unlike a blacksmith shop of 200 years ago -- with the exception of electricity and gas forges. Visitors are always welcome, but please call ahead.
Blacksmithing is an art form rich in tradition and expressed through craft. From garden gates to architectural sculpture, Craig enjoys working on commissions both large and small - working to satisfy the needs of the clients and the space.
